How does free food from a food cart for a whole year sound? Pretty good to the 500 or so Cartathlon IV participants this year. Renaissance Homes is excited to participate in Cartathlon IV, presented by Willamette Week, on Sunday, March 2 from noon to 4 p.m. Known as Portland’s food cart scavenger hunt, the urban footrace is wild, wacky and a whole lot of fun. Renaissance Homes staff members will be stationed at our move-in ready Vintage Collection home at 4427 N. Gantenbein in Portland. As a featured stop on the scavenger hunt filled with food cart challenges, teams dressed in costumes will storm the city and snap photos of themselves in front of the assigned, mapped landmarks. These photos will be uploaded to Instagram. The catch? Race participants can’t use personal cars, but are given bus passes for the afternoon. And many run from one location to the next. The event culminates at Green Dragon with an awards reception. Winners of the free food cart meals for a year will be chosen among those teams who made it to the most landmarks, teams who completed the course in the least amount of time, the best team name and the best costumes.
