Renaissance partners with HBF to build at-risk youth housing facility
Announcing the next HBF project: New Meadows  The Home Builders Foundation is pleased to announce its next project: New Meadows. The HBF will partner with Bridge Meadows, a multi-generation housing facility, to provide safe haven for at-risk youth aging out of the foster care system. New Meadows will be a partnership between New Avenues for Youth, Bridge Meadows, Children First of Oregon, and the Home Builders Foundation. The facility will be 7,600 square feet and have nine studio apartments for young adults ages 18-24. Renaissance Homes has agreed to serve as Builder Captain for the project, which is expected to break ground in 2014 once the property for the facility has been secured. About The HBF Founded in 1997, the Home Builders Foundation (HBF) is the charitable arm of the Home Builders Association of Metropolitan Portland. Using the resources of the home building community, the HBF's mission is to build shelter for those experiencing homelessness in our community and provide construction related education opportunities for students in need. Through its shelter building program, the HBF seeks to build, renovate or maintain transitional shelter where homeless families and individuals can rebuild their lives. By significantly underwriting the cost of construction through donated labor and materials, shelters are able to focus more of their resources on serving the needs of the homeless rather than building maintenance. To learn more about the HBF, please visit website.
