Catch Maria Bamford at Helium Comedy Club Sept. 18 and 19. Known as one of Rolling Stone’s 50 funniest people, the comedienne, has appeared on Netflix’s “Arrested Development” as well as on FX’s “Louie.” She’s the first female comic to have two half-hour Comedy Central Presents specials and lends her recognizable voice to animations for Cartoon Network’s “Adventure Time” and Nickelodeon’s “Kung Fu Panda.” Helium Comedy Club is located at 1510 SE 9th Ave. in Portland. Reggae Pop:

Catch Katchafire at the Aladdin Theater on Sept. 24 to sway to the feel-good beats by this global roots reggae phenomenon. Their sound is built on the foundations of classic roots reggae with nods to the soul of rhythm and blues and infectious beats of modern dancehall numbers. River Cruise:

Hop aboard the Portland Spirit this month for Friday Early Escape Summer Concerts. Featuring a different local band each week, the two hour cruises on the Willamette River also offer a bistro style menu and beverages from their full-service bars.
