Neighborhood Profile

Neighborhood Overview

Located in inner Southeast Portland, the neighborhood of Eastmoreland boasts many trees and well-kept front yards. A prominent landmark is the prestigious Reed College, and in 1908 when it was established, the goal for the surrounding neighborhood was to be reminiscent of Boston. Most homes were built in the 1920’s and ‘30s, and styles range from Colonial to stucco. There are lots of parks in the neighborhood, but none compare to the wedding venue-worthiness of Crystal Springs Rhododendron Garden. There is also an established neighborhood association that has year-round events to bring the community together. The Eastmoreland Golf Course is in the nation’s top 75 public courses.Dining and shopping opportunities are limited, so as not to interrupt the neighborhood’s quiet charm. Nearby ‘hoods such as Sellwood and Woodstock offer vintage shops and lovely cafes.
